WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING DO THE COUNSELORS RECEIVE?

All counselors are CPR and First Aid certified. Each counselor has completed a live scan and a tuberculosis test before setting foot on the beach.

HOW MUCH DOES LOBSTER JO'S COST AND HOW DOES THIS COMPARE WITH OTHER CAMPS IN SANTA BARBARA?

Lobster Jo's is on the lower price point of camps here in Santa Barbara as we try to make summer programs accessible to all youth in the county regardless of their economic background. 2023 should be around $235/week

IS LOBSTER JO'S INCLUSIVE TO CHILDREN WITH DIFFERING CAPABILITIES?

Lobster Jo's fully encourages all youth no matter their background to come to join us for an amazing week of fun. If your camper will likely need accommodations please contact the Parks and Rec department three weeks before attending camp.

CAN CHILDREN USE THEIR CELLPHONES TO CALL HOME WHILE THEY’RE AT CAMP?

Cell phones and outside toys are prohibited at Camp as per city policy. Counselors are also instructed only to use phone when needed so at camp.

CAN I BRING (BIRTHDAY) TREATS FOR THE CAMPERS?

Yes, as long as you preapprove them with the head counselor who will notify you of any allergies so there can be an alternate option provided.

WHAT TIME IS DROP OFF AND PICK UP? WHO CAN SIGN IN AND OUT?

Please drop off between 8:45 and 9 AM and be sure to have your camper off the sand by 3 PM. Campers need to be picked up by their parent/guardian or anyone pre-approved by their parent/guardian.

HOW OFTEN DO WE REAPPLY SUNSCREEN?

Campers should arrive at camp lathered up already but will be prompted to reapply at snack time, lunchtime, and during free play. Rash guards are our best friends at camp, they're the best way to not get burned.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING DAY-TO-DAY?

Campers should come to camp with a bathing suit, rashgaurd, water, food, sunscreen, hat, glasses, towel, a change of clothes, and an awesome smilie that will brighten our day!
